This unit is made of durable 2.5" thick insulating firebrick which stores heat for slow cooling and safe annealing. The hinged lid is self-adjusting to compensate for expansion at high temperatures and includes a stop that holds the lid open. Dropped, recessed grooves protect the replaceable heating elements for longer life. It comes with a built-in 2.75" tall steel base with rubber feet covering the entire firebrick bottom. Simply place the kiln directly onto a heat-resistant work-surface and begin firing.
